Once you sign up and get approved for their programs, you can get your unique affiliate links to add to your blog, view reports on clicks and sales, and see any future payment period you are scheduled to receive.
Here are some steps to get started with affiliate marketing:

Each individual blog post needs to focus on one target keyword. And if no one searches for it, you will never get customer traffic and no orders happen, we won’t reach the ultimate goal of blogging.
It’s a fact: You need a basic understanding of keyword research and search engine optimization (SEO) so that your blog can rank and get traffic. You do not need to be an SEO expert to make a blog like me.
I don’t dig deep into seo or google too deeply, just the basics are okay, if you want to set up a company or teach seo, you need to dig deep.
Just remember this, Google wants users to stay on their platform for as long as they can advertise and crawl and then sell ads.
You satisfy your users when you let users find the valuable information they want to find on Google’s search engine, then Google will give your traffic and blog.
To rank, you need good content and credibility from other platforms, suggested by other blogs.

Why is keyword research necessary?
People are online six and a half hours a day.
People search on Google 63,000 times per second. That’s 3.8 million searches per minute, 228 million searches per hour, and 5.6 billion searches per day.

All numbers are estimated as an anchor point for our reference, not exact. For example, each tool offers different difficulty levels between Kfinder, Keyword tool, Ahrefs, or Semrush, but tells us somewhat of the difficulty.
On my website, there are two main types of keywords that I target when it comes to SEO: high volume / high competition and medium volume, low competition. There are a few keywords that are all easy to top and get credibility from google.
1. Which keywords help drive your revenue?

The first keywords that new blogs should look for are low-volume or medium-volume, low-competition keywords.

The second type of keyword that I target is super high volume phrases that are not easy to monetize but can bring a lot of traffic.

Your niche needs your audience’s revenue potential, your own affiliate marketing potential, leverage, and keyword research.
The appropriate selection section above is longer than most other tutorials on how to start a blog because early planning is one of the most important keys to blogging success.

2. Write down goals for your blog.
A goal you want to achieve without a clear plan to accomplish is just a dream!
This is true when starting a new blog.
After choosing your niche, you need a way to keep track of things – not just your to-do and content ideas, but also your goals, ideas, and motivations.
The key at this stage is not making things too complicated.
When I started this blog, I followed everything in a simple document.
Your Blog Goals.
Time to think big and write down what you want to achieve with your blog in the short and long term. These must be SMART goals – Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Timely.
Here are a few examples from my documentation when I started planning my blog:
- Write and publish your first five blog posts more than 2,000 words before January 1
- Complete your About page by January 5
- Publish five guest posts before January 20
- Received 1,000 blog visitors / month before March 30
- There were 50 people on my email list before April 30
- Get 50 backlinks by May 30
As you can see, these are all achievable short-term goals with clear due dates.
Make a track record of your blog.
When you profile or make clear notes to keep track of your blog you will see how you progress faster as well as the growth of your blog.
The sections here may include:
- Suggest a value that you only create for readers (for example, I am different from other bloggers that they only focus on one area of making money, this may be good for SEO but I want readers to balance their lives as well Strong or keep motivated, it’s different)
- Title and subtitle of your blog.
- What problem do you solve?
- “What was your blog born for” on your blog – in 1-2 sentences, how easy is it to explain your blog to strangers?
- Your ideal customer characters (my examples are those who want to transform numbers and balance their lives).
- What are the main categories for your blog? (Online business, master your physical health and mind mastery)
- Future content ideas with target keywords and search volume.
The key is to turn it into a live document and up-to-date in the way you see fit. Over time there will be many changes you need “Continuous Evolution”

To plan a blog, set some simple goals and write down things to better hone your blog’s message and understand who your audience is.
Remember, when learning how to start a blog, you need to plan appropriately and your goals like a business from day one.
Why do you start a blog?
Your goals should be tied to your reasons, which will increase your motivation and reduce your boredom.
We all started blogging for different reasons – to make money, to create an audience around the industry we are passionate about, to build a professional resume, to improve writing skills. of ours, and so on and clouds … the list is endless.
But it goes deeper than that.
For example, if you want to learn how to start a blog to make money, then it could be for a number of different reasons:
- The ability to create an online business system can be your primary or secondary income.
- The dream of quitting your full-time job and saying goodbye from 7 am to 7 pm.
- Spend more time with your family.
- Save for an extra vacation every year and…
- You control the time of your life.
Go into your “why statement” to understand not only your goals but also what your goal fulfillment will mean for your life.
For me, I have always dreamed of balancing my life, being free, having time to practice, making enough money to avoid the company race. I get scared when I think:
- Every morning, I wake up with an alarm.
- Driving to work is stuck in traffic, inhaling CO2 from the exhaust of a 2-stroke engine
- Assigned to do this and that, I have to do it because I have to do it even if I don’t want to.
- And at night I could not learn anything more because I was tired… again in the morning.
So the first reason I started my blog was the freedom of time.
The second reason is to prove something to yourself – live up to your expectations of what your life can be and avoid mediocrity at all costs.
And I have tried and failed many times.
In the end, it was only when I learned enough from many other smart people in my domestic and international digital marketing careers that I found the formula to make it work.
I simply don’t know what I don’t know.
So I want to share with you all the things I wish I knew before you started blogging.
I also do my own research to understand the biggest challenges facing new content marketers based on the stage of their blog’s development.
This survey has proven itself that in order to build a profitable blog, you need a holistic approach that starts with three main principles: niche market selection, content marketing, and monetization.
Let’s move on to the next step in setting up your website.
3. Select a domain name.
In the past, I spent too much time on this step. I have been scouring on GoDaddy, Namecheap … all week trying to find the perfect, attractive, specific, short, memorable dot com domain.
Although this step is important but not necessarily as important as you think.
In the past, it was possible to get exact match keyword domains like Nemphung.net to help rank your search. Today, it’s much more difficult.
Nemphung.net is the page I installed for the specialties selling unit of Nem Phung Hanoi, this page loads quite quickly, you should try it.
If you do not sell specialties like Nem Phung, I recommend choosing a website name that is large enough to allow you to rotate if you need to change the market after a while you find it inappropriate.

Or the AZLifeMastery.com can do about whatever service or product isn’t, serving this life! Or many of their bloggers naming them fine too.
If your focus is too narrow and you suddenly lose interest in your niche or out of interface ideas, you’re stuck with your new domain.
However, if you broaden your focus a bit, you can expand your content and have enough flexibility to maintain consistency, avoid stubs, and better advertise your website in the meantime long time.
Previously, I tried starting an online business and chose extremely specific names. When I didn’t see immediate success, I got discouraged and thought, “Well, maybe this field isn’t for me. I should give up and try something else ”.
Here’s what you can do instead: choose a broader name and worry about being specific in your posts and pages.
Here are a few other things you need to consider before choosing a name for your website.
1. The price of the domain.
You must purchase your blog domain name from a domain registrar. You will have to pay about $ 10 / year. I bought a domain name at Namesilo for just over $ 8 / year.
2. Should you use your name as the domain name?
The blog is a living, breathing document. They need the freedom to adapt, turn, and change over time. Personal brand domains are the smartest choice and give you the power to change.
If a sub-niche isn’t right for you, you can rotate your content and tailor your blog to what’s working.
Think about it.
The number one struggle new bloggers face is their niche. Put your hands down – it’s not even close.
But what is the likelihood of a complete beginner picking the perfect niche and getting it to work? Very thin.
3. Domain Extensions.
The domain name has different extensions – .com, .us, .guru, .sport, .com, etc.
.us stands for the United States, .guru is used for coaching blogs and sport is used for sports blogs.
However, .com is a more inclusive top-level domain and is most favored by search engines.
Here’s how internet users perceive some of the top-level domains for trust, on a scale of 1-5, the bigger they like:
Here are a few other things to consider when choosing a domain name:
- Your name shouldn’t be too difficult and complicated to enter. It should also be memorable and match your branding. That’s why dot com extensions are such a great choice.
- Don’t be confused with those that are difficult to spell, so keep names that are easy to spell and pronounce.
- Avoid using numbers and hyphens in your domain as it can confuse people.
- Try to incorporate a keyword that best represents your blog, if possible. It’s not important to have a keyword in your blog’s name for SEO but it can help people identify your blog’s niche immediately.
If your preferred name is not available, most of the tools mentioned in the above article will provide alternative suggestions.
4. Choose a blog hosting company and register your domain name.
Every website needs a web host to host their website on a server so that everyone can access it online. If you don’t have a hosting account, your blog won’t be visible on the internet.
The performance of your blog depends a lot on the provider, so it’s a good idea to choose the best web hosting service possible. A good hosting platform keeps your website up and running without interruption, offers security, and integration with WordPress.

Step # 4: Enter your details.

5. Install WordPress as your Blog Content Management System (CMS)
After completing the first stage of blog planning and choosing a web hosting service, the next step is to choose WordPress as your blogging platform.
Your blogging platform, also known as the Content Management System (CMS), is where you’ll write, customize, and publish your blog posts. Naturally, you’ll need something user-friendly, powerful, and affordable.
There are paid and free blogging platforms available to choose from.
Here are the top blogging platforms and how to use them:
Most people run their blog on WordPress, this can be clearly seen from the stats above.
WordPress also offers a variety of free plugins, themes, and ways to extend the functionality of your blog.
You also don’t need any coding knowledge to get started.
With most servers, you just need to use 1-click WordPress installation and you will be taken to your WordPress dashboard.
However, before you get started, you should know the difference between the .com and .org versions of WordPress.
WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org – Which should you choose?
Here are some of the common differences between the two:
If your ultimate goal is to make money through your blog, then think no more before choosing self-hosted WordPress.org.
A blog is an extension of your brand and needs to be something that you completely own. You shouldn’t rely on a subdomain or a blog site like Tumblr to host your blog.
The .com version has minimal options and doesn’t let you edit the settings or choose a custom domain. (Example: yourite.wordpress.com). If you want to use a custom name, you will have to pay extra.
It also comes with limited monetization and analytics options. On top of that, with the .com option, you cannot upload plugins and themes from outside of WordPress.
On the other hand, WordPress.org gives you complete freedom to download tools and interfaces from different platforms and completely customize your blog design.

6. Choose your Blog theme.
There are countless themes in this world, but if you want to be a site that combines sales and information, you can choose the premium Flatsome theme or you want a pure info theme to support maximum speed. Then choose Generatepress like me.
Now that you have a WordPress account, you need to choose your WordPress theme.
A WordPress theme is a collection of templates, files, and stylesheets that determine the look and design of your WordPress-powered website.
Right now, your blog might look like this:
This is the default WordPress theme and on the left side is the theme customization menu that helps you customize your theme.
While this basic theme isn’t the best, it can be used to get familiar with the theme editor.
In the interface editor you can edit:
- Site identifiers – business name, logo, and other navigation items.
- Color – you can choose a color for fonts, buttons, blocks, and other items.
- Menu – you can edit the position of your menu navigation and which pages to include.
- Extra CSS – this is where you can put custom CSS instead of messing up your theme editor files.
There are a few blog design principles to keep in mind.
For example, the font should be between 14 and 18 points, easy to read and read. You should also have menu navigation that looks good on mobile and desktop.
Sites with poorly organized layouts will be difficult to navigate and impair your blog’s user experience.
Remember that you don’t have to spend money to install a premium theme if you find a free theme you like. However, make sure it looks good, loads quickly, and that the information is easily accessible to readers.
Finally, don’t overdo the design – a blog should be highly functional and not complicated.
Install a new theme for your blog.
Here’s how you can install a new theme for your WordPress blog:
First, log in to your WordPress account (admin page). You can always access your WordPress login page by going to yourdomainname.com/wp-admin.
Next, add your WordPress credentials.
Once logged in, your WordPress dashboard should look something like this.
Here, click on the option “theme” from the sidebar menu.
Next, choose the option “skins” from the “Appearance” section.
To search for the theme options that WordPress offers, click the “Add New” button at the top of the page.
As you can see below, there are plenty of free themes to choose from.
You can scroll down and preview as many themes as you want before choosing one for your blog.
You can also filter out skins based on three categories: “skins”, “Features” and “Layout”.
Here’s what the filter options look like:
Apply filters to narrow down your options. You can then click on a thumbnail and instantly preview your final blog, its example.
If you like a particular theme, you can click the “Install” button.
If you don’t want to use a WordPress theme, there are a lot of websites like GeneratePress, StudioPress offers premium themes that you can buy. When you purchase a theme, a zip file will be emailed to you.
To install this external theme, all you have to do is go to “Themes” – “skins” and click “Add New”, upload the zip file, and click install.
Congratulations, you’ve got a WordPress site with the new theme installed.
Additionally on choosing the right interface.
- Read descriptions of the different WordPress themes to get an idea of their features. This will help you know if the theme is compatible with your niche.
- Choose a responsive theme that works well on both desktop and mobile (most do).
- WordPress also allows users to rate their themes – be sure to check out the reviews for a feel for the quality of the theme.
- Before installing a theme make sure to check its demo or preview to see what it will look like.
Free, premium, and customizable interface.
There are tons of free blog themes available on WordPress. However, they sometimes come with limited design options.
That said, you can always start your blog with a free theme and then move on to a more personalized look once your content is done.
As long as it loads quickly and allows you to start publishing content, there’s no reason not to get started and worry about your flawless design later on.

7. Install the recommended WordPress Plugins:
Since WordPress is open-source, you can customize your website in a myriad of ways.
And this starts with WordPress plugins.
These are toolkits that integrate with your website and extend its functionality and feature set.
WordPress offers thousands of plugins with various functions, including everything from email marketing and calendar integration to opt-in forms and SEO tools.
These tools make learning how to start a blog pretty easy, as they do a lot of interesting tasks without any knowledge as a coder.
However, you should not install these hundreds of tools on your blog as they tend to slow down your website and can conflict with each other during the update process.
Which plugin should you add to your blog?
I’ve compiled a list of some of the best to help you enhance your new blog (and the exact ones I use):
If you’re having trouble with the new Gutenberg editor, you can go back to Classic Editor.
The editor with block you won’t edit as fast as the classic editor, you absolutely have a choice.
Advanced Editor Tools (formerly TinyMCE Advanced) introduces the “Classic Paragraph” block for the block editor (Gutenberg).
If you are not ready to switch to a block editor or have unusable plugins there (yet), then using the Classic Paragraph block is your best choice.
It allows you to continue using the familiar TinyMCE editor for most tasks, while also giving you full access to all new blocks and features in the block editor.
Version 5.5 continues to improve and enhance the new features introduced in version 5.0 of the plugin. It includes an improved “Delete format” button, some advanced settings for the board, and import and export settings to a file.
This plugin allows you to easily add a Table of Contents to any page or post. The plugin will appear below your pages/posts, and you can choose whether any H2, H3, or any other title will be automatically added to the Table of Contents.
Table of contents is important for a number of reasons: they attract users to engage with the page (by clicking around) and help with the user experience.
I usually have a Table of Contents at the top of my new posts, go to each section, then a “Back to top” widget in the bottom right corner so that the user can easily go back to the Table of Contents.
Or you can use Fixtoc as your blog, but it will have a heavier effect.
5. Elementor Pro.
Elementor Pro is the best WordPress landing page builder and it’s the tool I used to create my homepage and a few other pages. They have a free version of Elementor, but the Pro version takes it to the next level with much better templates.
While the new Gutenberg block editor adds a lot of built-in functionality, if you’re having trouble building pages, Elementor Pro is a good choice. You can get started with Elementor Pro for $ 49 / year.

Easy WP SMTP allows you to configure and send all outgoing emails through the SMTP server. This will prevent your email from going into the recipient’s spam/junk folder.

This plugin is compatible with all email marketing systems on the market, including the world’s most economical email marketing system Sendy.
10. Shortcodes Ultimate.
This plugin allows you to create simple content blocks by adding shortcodes to your website. \
I mainly use this to quickly insert buttons on my linking pages so that the reader has a very clear call to action.
Shortcodes Ultimate will appear in your WordPress site editor as a small button at the top (like Bold, Paragraph Spacing, etc.) and when you click on it you select your content block. With the buttons, you can preview them in the editor and choose their size, color, style, and more.
ShortPixel compresses all of your images so they are smaller files and your pages load faster. I have tested a lot of different image compression tools and ShortPixel is the best one.
12. Pretty Links
This is one of my favorite affiliate marketing tools. Pretty Links takes your random affiliate links (full of random numbers, a string of characters, etc.) and makes them look good. For example, which one looks better:
The second one is easier to click, resulting in a higher conversion rate and cannot be stolen by hackers.
14. WP Rocket. (paid)
I have tried other speed tools like Autoptimize and have some problems with it. WP Rocket is the best, in my opinion.

15. Yoast SEO.
Yoast does not need an introduction. If you don’t use it, then you’re missing out on a lot of great free features. I use Yoast to manage sitemap, robots.txt, page title/meta description, and other add-ons.
Now that we’ve covered the best plugins to install for your blog, let’s move on to some of the unique settings to keep an eye on.

8. Set up SEO for your blog.
A very important ranking factor is the URL of your blog posts and pages, in other words, the path structure.
When you add a new page or post, you’ll see the page editor and can select the URL after the com dot. Check out the links below:
This text after .com is what a permanent link looks like.
Permalinks are static hyperlinks that will lead your visitors to a particular website.
By default, your permanent link is set to “yourdomainname.com/postID”.
Not only does this look unattractive, but it’s also not the best for SEO.
Before you start writing content for your blog, make sure to set a specific permanent link structure.
From your WordPress dashboard, go to “Settings” -> “permalinks”.
You can choose from a number of options. Most high-ranking blogs follow the “Post Title” or “Customizable” structure below.
The main thing to know is that each post or page should focus on one target keyword, which should be in the area immediately after the com dot.
For blog posts, this permanent URL is the only thing that needs to be preserved. You can change the title, meta description, content, and title of the page or post, but the URL needs to be kept.
This is because if you get inbound links to this URL, changing it will result in a 404 error and lose that link value.
Finally, remember to save the settings before exiting the page.
Also, make sure that you have Google Analytics and Google Search Console set up. These two tools are 100% essential for indexing your blog and monitoring traffic. Both can be easily integrated with the Yoast plugin.

Now, it’s time to start creating content for your blog.
9. Create Original Content for Your Blog.
After completing the template for your blog, it’s time to start writing your blog posts.
While you don’t need to be a professional writer to learn how to start a blog, it’s important to understand basic sentence structure and proper grammar. You also need to make sure you know the basics of writing.
For example, short paragraphs, bullets, and images help break up long, monotonous blocks of text and keep readers engaged.
Ultimately, all of your content creation begins with the keyword research we did above.
How to Add Keywords to Your Blog Posts.
Each blog post should focus on one main target keyword and this is where it should be included:
- Place keywords in your blog’s perpetual URL.
- Include keywords in your post title.
- Add your keywords in the first or second paragraph.
- Include keywords inside your title tag.
- Add keywords throughout your paragraph text. The general rule of thumb is to use 1% keyword density so your keywords are included once for every 100 -150 words. If your blog post is really long, this could be too many times. Use your best judgment and don’t use keyword stuff. I put fewer keywords, less than this rate.
- Add it to your meta description (optional).
You will see in your example below, the target keyword is in the title, URL, and first paragraph.
Once you have a list of the top 5-10 keywords you want to cover, it’s time to start writing.
Remember, in addition to text, blog posts with audio, videos, photos, infographics, and other types of visual content work best and engage readers.
In fact, 87% of marketing experts incorporate visual elements such as video as a marketing tool.
It is essential to write content that responds to your reader’s search intent and forces them to take action on your blog.
Write blog posts that are relevant to finding visitors.
When planning your content strategy, think about what your readers really want when they’re doing an online search for your target keyword.
For example, let’s say your target keyword is “che do an cua ronaldo” This is an easy keyword, I want to have the top article early to get traffic and reputation from google.
When you search for this phrase, you will find that a lot of blog posts have titles that include complimentary phrases like eating and sleeping, eating exercise, age, nutrition …

What does this mean for your content strategy?
You should get right to the point and come up with a list of what your audience needs, not necessarily a big site. This site I just created in summer 2020. So:

Instead, match search intent and provide information that your readers are really looking for by understanding the meaning behind their search.
This is done by looking at which additional terms are included in the title tags of the content that is ranking and reverse engineered search.

Now that we’ve covered some content marketing basics, here’s how to write your first blog post inside of WordPress:
Click on “Posts” in the left sidebar from your WordPress dashboard.
Now, select the “Add New” button. Next, you will come to an editor where you can start writing your first blog post.
While creating your blog post, keep the above tips in mind.
The WordPress editor works just like Microsoft Word and allows you to do the following:
- Align text left, right, and center.
- Make text bold or italic.
- Highlight text and add a link. You should also go to your link settings and open any external links in a new tab – this will keep readers on your blog.
- Add and align images. On most blogs, the image should be JPEG no more than 800 pixels wide. Any wider and your image file size will slow down your loading time.
- Add categories and tags to posts.
- When you click Save Draft, your blog post is saved but hasn’t been published yet.
- When you click Publish, your blog post will be officially published and appear on your blog hosting page.
Make sure to download and install the Yoast plugin. This allows you to visit your target keyword and get suggestions on what to do for SEO.
In Yoast, there are four important parts to add:
- Meta description
- Keywords Focus
Yoast gives you practical access to how your blog post can perform in terms of organic traffic for a particular keyword.
Try to get as many green signals as possible. When you turn on the 80% green light, it means you’re good to go ahead and your blog is likely to perform better when it comes to SEO.
You can even “Preview” your blog post before publishing it.
If you’re happy with how your blog post is displayed, go ahead and click Publish.
Once it works, make sure to visit the URL of your blog post and double-check to make sure the format and content look great.
After completing your first blog post, you can head over to Google Search Console, enter a new URL and submit it for faster indexing.

Create basic pages.
Pre-launch content includes content for static pages in your blog, such as Home, About Us, Contacts, etc. What is interesting is that the WordPress Site Editor looks and works almost. Just like the Post Editor.
The only main difference is that the pages have no categories and blog post tags.
Before launching your blog, you should have a few pages in your blog’s top menu navigation so that readers quickly understand your blog and find important information.

We all know what your homepage is – it’s the main URL of your website.
This page shouldn’t include every little detail about your website – its purpose is to sell your unique value proposition in two seconds or less.
If readers visit your homepage and are not quick to understand what your site is about, they can exit and never return.
The WordPress homepage can be edited using a page builder (what you see is what you get) like the Elementor plugin. This tool allows you to drag and drop content blocks, including text, images, videos, color blocks, etc.
If you’re just learning how to start a blog, remember that a good homepage should contain:
- Easy-to-see, image with subject line and subheading.
- A small section to let readers know more about your blog’s content.
- Internal links point to your important content to make it easier for readers to navigate around your website.
There aren’t any rules for the homepage, so get familiar with your landing page builder plugin and writhe with it.
2. About Page.
Your blog’s About page should include everything about you – who you are, what you stand for, and what your blog is about.
This section will help you connect with your readers on a deeper level, so don’t hold back.
Be sure to include the following on your “About” Page:
- Who are you?
- What made you decide to start your blog.
- Your background or expertise to build trust with your readers.
- The pain point you’re tackling and the way you cope with the problems is the same as your audience.
- Your story, whether it will be more or less successful, tells the truth.
- A call to action.
When someone visits your website and really likes your content, they are likely to visit your About Page to know more about you.
To engage readers, I created my About page that looks like a story.
I started with a self-doubting struggle to transform my blog’s business knowledge and turn it into a profitable business.
People don’t necessarily want to read about all of your recent career achievements.
This is not the time to brag about yourself, but let people know who you really are, whether you are trustworthy or deceptive.
And be sure to research other About Pages from your niche blogs for ideas and inspiration. While this is often a skipped page and doesn’t generate direct revenue, it builds credibility and helps you connect with your audience.
Next, move on to the Contact Page.
2. Contact Page.
This page is all about sharing your blog’s visitor contact details so they can get in touch with you.
You can share your email address, phone number, or social media link and contact form on this site.
This should be just a simple page with the contact form – no need to complicate it. You can scroll down to view your contact page.
3. Widgets – Sidebar, Footer, and Block.
These are not pages. However, your sidebar is a column that can appear on the right or left side of your blog posts and pages.
The sidebar is used to display blog categories, recent posts, ads, opt-in forms, and anything you’d like all of your readers to see.
I just turned off the sidebar temporarily, it helps you to optimize your site loading speed a bit.
These are considered a WordPress widget – and you can find them in your dashboard under Appearance – Widgets. The way I describe a widget is any place on your website that is not right on the page or post content.
So, for example, your footer is a widget. Your blog sidebar is a widget. Even sections of your home page can be widgets.

This system is connected to an email marketing system.
They are easy to edit and similar to the main page and post editor, just in another place in your WordPress dashboard.
In short, after planning your first five blog posts, you need to create other WordPress sites that bloggers need. This includes your home page, about page, and contact page.
You also need to add content to your WordPress widgets like sidebars and footers.
We’ve covered a lot of things in this tutorial so far.
You have already grasped a lot of concepts about how to start a blog and your articles and pages are published and ready to go.
Now that we understand these principles, it’s time to create a long-term content plan.
10. Create a Long Term Content Strategy.
Once you’ve published your first post, your work isn’t done. In fact, it’s just getting started.
Most blog posts take months to rank on Google and perform well only after consistent updates.
Here’s the strategy I use to scale my content creation, help my posts rank over time, and start generating revenue:
- I do keyword research for the high-volume, medium-volume keyword that I want to rank for, and quickly choose the easy word
- Next, I create an outline for the post and send it to my content writer or I write. I also make sure my writers know the quality of my posts based on competitor research.
- When the first article of my article is completed, I edit it and publish it immediately. Don’t hesitate here – it takes time to get traffic to new posts anyway.
- After doing some link-building efforts, I outlined in this guide below, and the article starts to rank on the first 3-5 pages of search results, I update the content by increasing its content and quality improvement. This is done by adding semantic keywords related to your main keyword.
- When the article ranks in the top 2-3 pages of search results, I join an existing affiliate program and add my affiliate links.
- Next, in order to maintain my organic ranking, I update the content regularly and continue to create inbound backlinks.
- Finally, when the article got on the first page and started generating affiliate revenue for brands, I reached out to each Affiliate Manager to see if I could get a commission boost.
This is a great way to plan your long-term content strategy and publish more blog posts in less time.
With this strategy, you will start to see your blog posts rank higher, while also generating more traffic and revenue.
But just writing good content is not enough.
A strong content strategy is imperative, as well as a great outreach strategy for branding.
Here are some other things to think about when building your long-term content strategy:
1. Remember To Solve Customer Problems and Deliver Value.
Your blog has to solve the difficult point of your audience. Whether it’s by sending helpful instructions to email listings or writing affiliate product reviews, you need to explore the problems your audience has encountered – and the keywords they’re looking for.
It’s repetitive – you have to understand your audience and then create content to solve their problem.
For example, if your audience is primarily comprised of podcasts, you should provide content on podcast hosting, the best equipment, and recording techniques for success.
2. Optimize your content.
Ranking top organic google search takes time, so don’t be afraid to hit the publish button and get back to editing your post later.
I usually publish an article and then submit it to Google Search Console so it can be indexed and appear in search results.
Next, I’ll come back a week later and add semantic keywords.
For example, if your article has a potential niche title, search engines will scan the page and see contextually relevant keywords like business, marketing, profits, etc.
While these aren’t the target keywords people are searching for, they are semantically relevant to your main interface and help you deliver a better content experience.
You also need to optimize your content based on long variations of the main keyword.
Google is getting smarter and smarter and able to rank content not only for a keyword but also many long-tail variations of that keyword. This is especially true after the 2013 Google Hummingbird update.
According to Wikipedia, “Hummingbird” places more emphasis on natural language queries, considering context and meaning than individual keywords. It also takes a deeper look at content on individual pages of the website, with the improved ability to lead users directly to the most relevant page rather than just the website’s homepage.
Use a tool like Ahrefs Keyword Explorer to find related keywords that are close variations of your target keyword. They should be used in your title tag.
For example, if your main keyword is crunchy, other H2 titles that might work in the post could be:
- What is Noodle Soup?
- What do you need to prepare to make Nem Phung?
- What are the benefits of Nem Phùng for the scapula?
- How to preserve rolls effectively.
- How to eat delicious spring rolls … etc
By targeting one main keyword and similar variations in the subheadings, you start ranking for hundreds, if not thousands, of keyword variations.
Remember, no one is searching for identical things – so it’s a good idea to understand which variations have the highest monthly search volume.
Also, these long-tail keywords don’t cause as much competition as their shorter keywords.
To find free appropriate long-tail keywords, you can use the Google Keyword Planner.
Let’s say you want to blog about affiliate marketing. Now to find long-tail keywords relevant to your theme go to the Keyword Tool.

Make sure to search for the keywords that are not only the most requested but are also relevant to your theme and are in good volume.
3. Tips for organizing your blog posts.
If you are planning a long-term content calendar, it is important to maintain a stable schedule. You need to update your posting frequency and stick to it.
For example, if you plan to post a new article every week, make sure you check your content calendar and follow up.
You should create a roadmap for the whole week or even a few months, depending on how often you write. Working backward from there can help you decide which articles you need to publish and when. It also helps you avoid missing out on your deadlines.
You can track this inside a simple spreadsheet with columns for your future posts, including:
- Target keyword.
- Blog post title.
- Monthly search volume.
- A number of words.
4. Understand the competitor context.
With so many blogs out there, whatever field you choose will be rife with competitors. But you can turn that to your advantage.

Another great example is SimilarWeb.
SimilarWeb allows you to find and understand the type of content your audience wants most and their competitors publish.
But it doesn’t mean you are blindly imitating your opponents.
Instead, take the time to answer the following questions:
- What are gaps that your competitors can’t address?
- How long is their content, and can you make it longer?
- How many links to the article are there?
- Do they have interactive media in their posts like videos or infographics?
- What is their domain rating?
- Are their posts properly formatted?
With these questions answered, you begin to understand what will be needed to outrank your competitors.
Identification of gaps.
We already know how to define what your audience is interested in. But what about gaps? What about the issues the audience wants to read but doesn’t have the content?
Better yet, use a tool like Ahrefs to see your competitor’s traffic data. You can see which keywords you rank for, which keywords your competitors rank for (and you don’t), and where there is overlap.
This gap analysis gives you good keywords to target for future articles.
5. Analyze traffic metrics to your content.
You absolutely need to use analytics tools to analyze the performance of your content.
Tools like Google Analytics and Ahrefs do just fine. Since Google Analytics comes pre-installed on your blog, you can visit the GA dashboard to see metrics like website visitors, average time on page, total page views, and lots of statistics. other interesting millet.
You can see traffic to individual blog posts over any period of time and compare it with previous times to see if your traffic is going up or down.

This is a hustle and hard job that includes a lot of email approaches.
Here are a few steps that are needed to take guest post outreach and link building:
1. Find Guest Post Opportunities.
Don’t think about the benefits you’ll get first – it’s important to emphasize that you provide value to others.
The things that stand out to me are things from sites that are providing value to me – whether it’s a backlink from a separate guest post, a social share, or a podcast interview, writing The blog is a 1: 1 exchange.
Your outreach emails should highlight how you can provide value to another website.

What should your guest post be? Naturally, it should be relevant to your niche and similar to what you post on your blog.
The content should also not exist on another site’s blog and get decent search volume. Make sure to look at all of the editorial guidelines for the guest post page and adhere to them closely.
Consider the necessary things like:
- What level of target audience do they have (beginner or advanced)?
- Type of target audience. For example, is the object B2B or B2C?
- Should the article be long or short?
